Maokong Gondola Tickets

* Single-journey Ticket

  • Good for one passenger, one journey.
  • There are 3 types of adult tickets: NT$30 (1 stop), NT$40 (2 stops) and NT$50 (3 stops). Can be bought from ticket vending machines or Information Counter in the Gondola station.
  • There are 3 types of discount tickets: NT$15 (1 stop), NT$20 (2 stops) and NT$25 (3 stops). Can be bought from the Information Counter in the Gondola station. Eligibility: People with disabilities and one of their escorts, senior citizens (ages 65 and above), and indigenous people registered in Taipei City (ages 55 and above) may purchase discount tickets on presentation of a valid ID.
  • Valid only on the day of issue. Passengers who override should make up the fare.
  • Usage: When entering, insert the ticket into the slot. When an arrow appears, retrieve the ticket and push the turnstile to enter. When exiting, ticket will be retrieved by the gate. Passengers may push the turnstile to exit.

* Maokong Gondola Super Value Round-Trip Ticket: (Launched January 11, 2013)

  • NT$120 (NT$20 deposit included).
  • This ticket is valid for one round-trip and an additional ride from first use until the end of service on a single day. Valid for only one person each journey. Additional free ride is not redeemable for cash. If the ticket is not fully used, the free ride is forfeited.
  • This ticket cannot be value-added. The deposit can be claimed by returning the ticket within 3 days from first use. Damage to the ticket forfeits the deposit.
  • Super value round-trip tickets that have only been used once are returnable for a NT$60 refund (Ticket price NT$100 - highest single journey ticket price NT$50 - NT$10 handling fee + NT$20 deposit)
  • Availability: Sale and refund at all Gondola stations.
  • Usage: Place the ticket over the EasyCard logo at the gate. When it beeps or an arrow appears, push the turnstile to pass through.

* Group Ticket:

  • There is a 20% discount for groups of 10 or more passengers and 30% discount for groups of 40 and more.
  • No refunds can be given once issued. The ticket must bear TRTC's stamp.
  • Usage: Contact station staff to enter/exit the station through the Group Ticket Entrance/Exit.

* Maokong Gondola Bulk Purchase Ticket

  • Passengers can activate the ticket before the expiry date. It is valid for 2 Gondola rides from first use until the end of service on a single day. Good for one passenger only.
  • Invalid if ticket has expired.
  • No refunds can be given once issued.
  • Eligibility: Legally registered travel agencies, hotels, airline companies, government authorities and enterprises in Taiwan.
  • Usage: When entering, insert the ticket into the slot. When an arrow appears, retrieve the ticket and push the turnstile to enter. When exiting, ticket will be retrieved by the gate. Passengers may push the turnstile to exit.

* Maokong Gondola Special Bulk Purchase Ticket

  • It is valid for 1 Gondola ride on designated date. Good for one passenger only.
  • Invalid if ticket has expired.
  • No refunds can be given once issued.
  • Eligibility: Legally registered travel agencies, hotels, airline companies, government authorities and enterprises in Taiwan.
  • Usage: When entering, insert the ticket into the slot. When an arrow appears, retrieve the ticket and push the turnstile to enter. When exiting, ticket will be retrieved by the gate. Passengers may push the turnstile to exit.

Tickets issued by EasyCard Corporation

  • Passengers using EasyCard should consult rules governing EasyCard issue and use drawn up by the EasyCard Corporation. For more information, please visit the website of EasyCard Corporation (http://www.easycard.com.tw/english/index.asp)
  • Gondola stations are only authorized to sell Taipei Pass (Maokong Gondola version) and EasyCard (Adult, Student and Concessionaire).

  • How to use the EasyCard for Maokong Gondola:
    Place the EasyCard over the EasyCard logo at the gate. When it beeps or an arrow appears, passengers can push the turnstile to pass through.
  • Introduction to types of EasyCard:

* Taipei Pass (Maokong Gondola Version)

  • One day pass (NT$250). No deposit is included.
  • Valid only on the day of first use. Unused ticket is refundable with NT$20 handling fee.
  • Taipei Pass can be activated by ticket reader on bus, and by metro or Gondola ticket gates. It is valid for unlimited Taipei Metro rides and Taipei City/New Taipei City bus rides, and Gondola rides from first use until the end of service on a single day.
  • Availability: For sale at all metro stations and Gondola stations.

* Adult EasyCard

  • Eligibility: Ordinary passengers.
  • Deduction: Full fare.
  • Availability: For sale at all metro stations, Gondola stations, or convenience stores with EasyCard logo.

* Student EasyCard

  • Eligibility: Students, police and military personnel.
  • Deduction: Full fare.
  • Availability: For sale at all metro stations, Gondola stations or convenience stores with EasyCard logo on presentation of valid student, police or military ID.

* Digital Student Identity EasyCard

  • Eligibility: Students.
  • Deduction: Full fare.
  • How to apply: Centralized application services through local education authorities or schools applying to EasyCard Corporation.

* Discount EasyCards

  • Eligibility:
    1. Senior citizens (ages 65 and above) or people with disabilities;
    2. Children between 6 and 12 years of age;
    3. Indigenous people (ages 55 and above).
  • Deduction: Full fare.
  • Availability: On sale at all stations and convenience stores bearing the EasyCard logo.
    (Note: Disabled passengers, their companions and senior citizens aged 65 and above may purchase half price tickets from the information counter at the Gondola station on presentation of a valid ID.)

* Senior/Charity/Companion EasyCard

  • Eligibility and application: Please ask your local government for details (for cities and counties that have already joined the system, please check the EasyCard Company’s official Chinese website at http://www.easycard.com.tw/easycard/02/apply.asp).
  • Senior/Charity EasyCards receive a 50% discount on all trips. Companion EasyCards receive a 50% discount if used on the same gate right after its Charity EasyCard, or pay full fares if used alone.

* Co-branded EasyCard

  • Eligibility: Ordinary passengers.
  • How to apply: Apply to the designated banks that are authorized to issue co-branded EasyCard.
  • Deduction: Full fare.

* Other types of EasyCards

  • Registered EasyCard, card with special theme, and IC commodities are available for sale in accordance with regulations promulgated by EasyCard Corporation.
  • Deduction: Full fare.

The following ticket types are no longer issued.

* Maokong Gondola One-Day Pass: (This ticket is no longer issued as of January 11, 2013. Passengers holding these tickets can still use them or ask for a refund at Gondola stations.)

  • NT$180 (NT$30 deposit included).
  • Valid for unlimited Gondola rides on the day of first use. Good for one passenger only.
  • One-day Pass cannot be value-added.
  • Availability: Sale and refund at all Gondola stations.
  • Place the ticket over the EasyCard logo at the gate. When it beeps or an arrow appears, push the turnstile to pass through.

* Maokong Gondola 3 Rides Ticket (This ticket is no longer issued as of July 1, 2010. Passengers holding these tickets can still use them or ask for a refund at Gondola stations.)

  • NT$150 (NT$50 deposit included).
  • Valid only on the day of first use. Valid for 3 Gondola rides.
  • Place the EasyCard over EasyCard logo at the gate. When it beeps or an arrow appears, passengers can push the turnstile to pass through.

* Maokong 321 Travel Ticket (This ticket is no longer issued as of July 1, 2010. Passengers holding these tickets can still use them or ask for a refund at Gondola stations.)

  • Fare: NT$180 (No deposit is included. Ticket can be kept by passengers.)
  • Valid only on the day of first use. Unused ticket is refundable with NT$20 handling fee.
  • This ticket is valid for 3 Gondola rides, 2 bus rides (BR15, S10, and Maokong shuttle bus), and 1 Taipei Zoo entrance ticket and zoo bus rides from first use until the end of service on a single day.
